Chapter 01 · The children
Some have lost their parents.
Others still have family, but poverty means that family can't provide. Both live with us at the compound in Uganda.
The children
In their own words.
A home.
Food.
Teachers.
Chapter 02 · What £37 a month covers
A home
A bed of her own.
Food
Meals, every day.
Teachers
Madrasa, English and maths — taught on site.
Chapter 03 · Why it matters
The one who looks after an orphan.
“I and the one who looks after an orphan will be like this in Paradise.”
The Prophet ﷺ — Sahih al-Bukhari
From the children
They know who looks after them.
The children make dua for the people who sponsor them. Every day.
Chapter 04 · What you get back
You'll know how they're doing.
- 01
The moment you choose
Your child is held for you while you pay, and comes off the list once it's done.
- 02
Month two
A general update from the compound.
- 03
Month three
A personal update on your child: each subject, a highlight, photos and video — all verified at the compound.
- 04
Every three months
The same again, for as long as you sponsor.
Zakat-eligible. Sponsoring an orphan or needy child can be given as zakat.
Now and then a specific, verified need comes up — clothing, books, something the compound can't stretch to. We'll tell you, and it's always a separate, optional ask, never added to your £37. If a payment ever fails you get a message first and a person looks at it before anything changes. Your child is never quietly dropped.
Chapter 05 · Sponsor a child
A home, food and teachers. £37 a month.
You choose your child first — they're held for you while you pay — and you hear back every three months.
Zakat-eligible.
For the sake of Allah.
